Plot summary

When Bowe Bergdahl infamously walked off his base in Afghanistan in 2009 he was captured by the Taliban and held for five years, tortured and kept in a tiny cage. But the nightmare only continued when he was freed by President Obama in exchange for five Taliban prisoners from Guantanamo. Arriving home, he was vilified in the media as a deserter who collaborated with the enemy. Donald Trump called for him to be shot as a "dirty rotten traitor". So what is his side of the story? Film-maker Sean Langan gets exclusive access to Bowe Bergdahl and to his parents, presenting a moving story of a family caught in a storm of false allegations, and a soldier who made a mistake and paid a terrible price.—Journeyman Pictures

Pro Bergdahl polemic that is contradicted over and over by Bergdahl's own statements at trial

Wow. It is so ironic that this film was made before the trial, and now that the trial has occurred and Bergdahl has been convicted of desertion and other charges related to his help to the Taliban.The filmmakers claims, and treatment of Bergdahl's pre trial claims as fact, are over and over contradicted by the court record.This filmmakers was played by Bergdahl and must be profoundly embarrassed to now be on the record being made complete fools -- within weeks of the "documentary's" release -- by Berdahls reversals.Bergdahl is no different than people who defected to the Nazis.

If Jussie Smollett joined the Army... Just like Smollett the everyone jumped at the chance to support a cause without knowing the truth only to get pie in the face. Just like Smollett wasted a lot of man hours and also I may add people died looking for him; when actually neatly stacked his gear and walked away.

I see you once again backed a liar. Should have done your homework no one in the military wanted to touch this guy with a ten foot pole. Always wanting to be the first to get the story out. Well you got the story out and it smells like horse manure...

It would be a 0/10 if possible

Waste of film period. He deserted, men died looking for him. He wanted to be in the desert we should have left him there. Selfish child.

This filmmaker trying to justify five terrorists for a soldier that didn't want to be a soldier anymore was a viable choice by making this film. Obama proved himself to be a horrific negotiator by this incident alone and its no surprise that Biden is just as bad trading the Merchant of Death for a WNBA player than can't fill a stadium on her return to the WNBA.

Bergdahl should be still in the desert to rot away with this Taliban Brothers, This Blue Falcon doesn't deserve understanding or mercy.
