Plot summary

The history books say that the first European to make contact with Native Americans was Christopher Columbus. New evidence tells a different story, that another civilization arrived in the New World centuries earlier. They were the Norse, a seafaring people who originated in the Scandinavian countries of Denmark, Norway and Sweden. They bore the name Viking, an "Old Norse" term for a pirate raid.

Very hard to watch.

The main narrator/archeologist cannot complete a sentence without saying 'um' at least 3 times. I barely made it 10 minutes into this. It would be easier listening to a Valley Girl say 'like' a million times than to have to watch this. I wanted to watch it, I really did. But this was akin to someone tapping on your shoulder repeatedly until you just snap. I was about to throw the remote at the tv, and I'm not one for throwing things. I wish I could give more insight into this program, but, as I said, I couldn't make it more than 10 minutes in. I'm surprised the filmmaker didn't talk to her about proper speaking.

Vinland map references?

I'm not an archaeologist, nor an expert, but this show lost a lot of its appeal when they kept referring to the Vinland map, which has been proven a hoax.
