Deadly Sisters

The Immoral Three (1975) ** (out of 4) Decent mixture of sexploitation, crime and mystery has three women being brought to a will reading where they learn that they're actually sisters. They also learn that their mother was murdered while she also lived her life as a secret agent. In order for each of the three women to inherit their millions dollars, they must search for who the real killer is.THE IMMORAL THREE certainly isn't going to win any major awards but for the most part it's a mildly entertaining movie if you simply want to watch a lot of women get naked and be featured in simulated sex scenes. Director Doris Wishman has become a huge cult favorite over the years and it's easy to see why she stands out since she was, after all, a female working in a business that mainly had guys behind the camera. There's no question that she didn't feature any great talent but it's still interesting to go through her filmmography. This film here isn't well-made by the typical sense but at the same time it's a lot better than a lot of the movies in the genre. The strongest part of the movie is the fact that it clocks in at 74 minutes, which is great because the film doesn't just drag on. As far as the story goes, it's pretty simple as each sister goes to investigate a possible murder suspect and of course a murder happens or some sort of sexual act. The three female leads all take their clothes off and there's no doubt that they're quite attractive and this here is what's going to keep most people interested.THE IMMORAL THREE certainly isn't going to be for everyone but fans of Wishman should be slightly entertained.

Hey, I've seen that explosion!

File this one under "slightly ambitious," as far as this director goes. I actually enjoyed the setup and premise of The Immortal Three. Where it goes from there is a little more typical, and a bit less ambitious.

This movie is a sequel to Wishman's Chesty Morgan/Agent 73 pictures (where Chesty is replaced by a, uh, less ample woman). In the opening scene, "Jane" is strangled by someone off-camera, and the next scene is at her wake, wih three younger women gathered. They see a lawyer, who informs them that they are in fact sisters, an occupational hazard from their mother, who would sleep around to get secrets! They are told $3 million hangs in the balance by finding her killer within a year. If the girls die, the lawyer gets the money! No shortage of suspects.

I am the rare person who enjoys sequels, and there are a number of callbacks to the original films (mostly in the way of re-used stock footage! Is this where Troma got that idea from?). This one's a winner in the unintentional laughs catagory. There are a whole number of them, and they are good ones!

Where does this story go after the initial setup? Obligatory sex scenes, and various stages of undress, naturally. It occasionally gets back on track. But Ginny (a voluptuous Cindy Boudreau) seems to get saddled with the bulk of the legwork. Nancy (Michele Marie) would rather sit on her ass and collect the money, and I think we see Sandy (Sandra Kay) go on one mission. What ensues is "sex," implied fellatio with a banana, skinny dipping, an attempted rape by a delivery boy (she forces him to fondle her, then tells him to get out!), where the actress is clearly laughing through the whole thing, a drunken striptease (actually this actress seems drunk through half the picture), roofie slippage, various struggling, Agent 73 flashbacks, hilarious acting, a fight in a pool, and a whole lot of suspicious characters. There's a triple twist ending, if you haven't had enough already.

Call me crazy, I kind of enjoyed this one. It is silly, but also lacked the unpleasantness of many of this director's other flicks (Yes, that includes Chesty Morgan's 73 inches).
