This is a bad holiday horror film that needed to sharpen the writing and improve the special effects and kill scenes
The Elf (2016) is a movie I recently watched on Tubi and tells the tale of a young man who inherits a toy shop. Deep in the back of the shop is a sealed chest that he and his girlfriend decide to break open. They discover an old doll and some paperwork warning them of its dangers. Not taking it seriously they decide to go on with restoring the toy shop; meanwhile, the doll comes to life as an elf and begins a killing spree.
This movie is directed by Justin Price (Forsaken) and stars Natassia Halabi (Born to be Blue), Lassiter Holmes (Alita: Battle Angel), Les Best (Derelicts), Alicia Rubio (Hit) and Pat Turner (Nana's Secret Recipe).
The storyline for this had potential but was executed poorly. The acting and writing is terrible. The CGI and the doll didn't match, though I will say the CGI is entertaining more than good. The only thing this movie has going for it was Halabi was smoking hot.
Overall this is another bad holiday horror film that needed to sharpen the writing and improve the special effects and kill scenes. I'd score this a 2/10 and recommend skipping it.
