12/10 Would Recommend!

I cannot recommend this movie enough. It has everything you could ever want in a horror film - gritty emotion, dark atmosphere, and an amazing storyline that keeps you hooked from start to finish. Driven by standout performances from each and every one of the incredible performers who bring their individual raw intensities to their respective roles, which expertly heightens the underlying sense of dread throughout this film, a throughline of drama that holds your attention beautifully. This is a must-watch for fans of atmospheric horror that doesn't shy away from the grim realities of the human soul. Plus, we need more Southern American representation in film in these trying times and this film absolutely delivers!

Captivating

A chilling story about the church's involvement in acquiring and selling black market organs. The film boasts creative dialogue, beautiful cinematography and incredibly strong acting, especially from Eric Roberts and René Mena. A tense ride that I absolutely loved! Ronald Algarin keeps the story moving at an exciting pace without compromising the depth of his characters. It really is a shocking story; one that I've never seen depicted on film. As an audience member, I'm very excited to see what more Algarin has up his sleeve. Hopefully he and Mena collaborate again as he took to this material perfectly.

Must watch!!

One of the strongest aspects of La Confesión is its acting. René Mena, who plays the sinister Father Ángel, is equally compelling, bringing a chilling presence to the screen. His ability to switch between charm and menace makes his character truly unsettling. Eric Roberts also delivers a solid performance as the Arzobispo, adding to the film's sense of unease and mystery. Mafalda Pinto Correia delivers a powerful performance as Raquel, portraying her fear, desperation, and resilience with raw emotion. Her portrayal feels incredibly real, making it easy to connect with her character's struggle. The supporting cast, including talented Salvadoran actors, helps bring the world of La Confesión to life with believable and engaging performances.
