Plot summary

After a near-fatal accident, Riley finds herself escaping to Rockaway Beach, NY. She is searching for a new-normal in the waves of the ocean by taking up surfing as a hobby. At the same time, Logan is searching for the same solace Riley seeks in the waves while he is recovering from rare male breast cancer surgery and awaiting news on whether or not he is cancer free. What starts as two souls running from their respective lives becomes a journey of hope, friendship, healing and the realization that we are stronger than the things that hurt us.

An inspiring film about healing a hurt soul(s).

This is an emotional story of two people carrying the weight of the traumatic events in their lives. There isn't a soul on the planet that can't relate to the experience of the characters in this film.As Riley and Logan journey through their pain, you will find yourself reflecting on your own experiences in life. We all put up walls of defense at some point in our lives and the story does a great job of connecting the audience with the raw emotion that this can cause.I could see this film rolling into a sequel or series because their are several storylines that could be explored even deeper.

Beautiful film - balances heartache and hope

Shredded is a beautifully made film that balances heartache and hope really well. It's a story that has a wonderful message that keeps you hooked throughout. The cinematography was stunning- I especially loved the shots of the ocean and surfing especially. The writing felt completely real and believable. And the performances were raw and honest. Movies that are based on a true story can sometimes feel too heavy but this was balanced well with moments of levity and a message of picking yourself back up and hope. You can tell this is a story that all the filmmakers took great care in telling well. Definitely reccomend.

Gorgeous and moving film

This film truly moved me and brought me to tears. It's rare to see a film that has such heart and humanity, while not steering away from being honest about the rocky road towards healing, both of body, mind and spirit. The directing, acting performances and writing were grounded and real- and the genuine connection between the leads really made me think about how connected we all are to one another, and that it's through relationship and supporting each other that we can thrive. Also, the film was beautifully shot! It's a heartfelt and moving story that I highly recommend, and one i won't forget.
