JUST OKAY - (5 stars out of 10)

The stage curtains open ..."Behold! The nerd child!"Well, I've done it. I've seen all of the "Revenge of the Nerds" movies. Though this final installment wasn't the best sequel, it was better than Part III was. Booger takes center stage with this one as we join him on his very special wedding weekend. Yep! Booger is getting married. Overall, I had fun watching all of these movies back-to-back. The very final scene was a perfect way to close out the film as well as the series. But, more on that later. Let's look at the plot line.As I mentioned before, Booger arrives at his future in-laws home for his wedding to the girl of his dreams, Jeanie - an Omega Mu. Of course, his nerdy, crass ways do not sit well with her family, especially her father who would rather resort to breaking up the wedding than suffer Booger as his new son-in-law. So he commissions his other son-in-law to dig up whatever skeletons in Booger's closet he can find to cast a shadow of doubt in Jeanie's mind. When a 12-year-old girl arrives saying that Booger is her Dad, it surprises everyone. Even Booger, who can't be sure it if is true or not. Meanwhile, Lewis and Betty, who are expecting their first child, and the rest of the gang show up as well to give Booger their support.The last movie in the series showed a lot more heart than the third movie did. It was made-for-tv, and it felt like it, but it was a fun time. Corinne Bohrer, as Booger's bride, Jeanie, steals the show. She was perfect as the quirky, uninhibited, and slightly off-kilter love of his life. They actually made sense - LOL. She was so much fun to watch. Ogre is back as well, and Stan Gable shows up, now a confirmed nerd himself - though he spends most of the time in bed because he has the chicken pox.The final scene where the closest of the bunch are gathered around to look at the new baby was perfect and just the right way to close it all out. "It's going to be a good year" someone says and they all laugh. I loved it. I would actually recommend this one. It isn't great, it isn't even a strong film, but it was entertaining with a solid feed-good vibe to it. Well, this one is over. Someday, I will be revisiting my nerdy friends again down the road.

* * Out Of Five

This time the gang of nerds get together to help throw a wedding for Booger in what ranks as the best sequel although that isn't saying very much as this has all been watered down by television standards. Indeed I went in with such low expectations after the disastrous third entry that this one comes as a vast improvement. It feels very much like a television movie and on the basis of rating this against other television sequels such as Problem Child 3 and The Birds II, this is vastly superior to a short lived genre made in the mid-90's. Still the movie doesn't contain a lot of inspired humor, it's more surprising that we find ourselves actually getting involved with the characters because there are actually a few tender moments, which actually work. Of course the main problem lies in the fact that basically everybody in this movie are too old and it's basically lost all the zip that the original contained, but if you loved the first entry (As I did) this one will have it's appeal. Although my 2 star rating is out of sheer nostalgia.
