Provoking and at times thought-provoking

Without giving away a ton, the title is meant to be optimistic. Got to appreciate comedians/comediennes and people in general who look for taboos, and some of those who knowingly tweak them. For a while, I tried to figure out if the lighting for her stage backdrop was color coding the trigger warning sections of her set.My wife watches awards shows, and she will watch the upcoming Golden Globes which Nikki will host. I'm pretty sure that will be filtered down to only show side Globes and lower Globe jokes....and she will probably do a decent attack-dog imitation a la Ricky Gervais. For this set, the death stuff to me is kind of funny, but I'm not her mother. And Nikki at 39, going on 27 may still go through a mental change along with the physical change in a few decades. If not, there's a clip from this that will be aired a lot.The anti-breeder stuff, I totally get but I am curious if in real life she feels the full-court press on not having kids. I know so many women without kids and if they are fending off attacks on that choice, I need to be edu-ma-cated. Or edu-pa-cated or sum thang.Anyways, I laughed probably more than my wife, but she got through this fine. Although I think in contrast it raised her opinion of the Nate Bargatze special we watched on New Years. My wife, and myself honestly, do prefer more observational and/or humor on us zany humans/Americans/etc in general.Glaser definitely has a self-centered mirror mirror on the wall, with a hope to appall. But definitely thought-provoking some of the time, the whole mmmmm-mmmm-mom bit.Bottom line even by today's standards, it's pretty crude in spots. So if your standards were set in the last millennium, please do not watch this. Or mention Nikki to your priest, imam or rabbi. Hmmm, perhaps Nikki could use all three in her porn-related set.Anyways, like an old Star Trek monster, be careful with this, your repulsion only makes her stronger ;>

"NIKKI GLASER: SOMEDAY YOU'LL DIE" REVIEW

Directed by Hamish Hamilton. A runtime of fifty-seven minutes. Streaming on MAX with a TV-MA rating.

Nikki Glaser is back in her second HBO special. Other than being a talented comedian, you might know Nikki from hosting the at-the-time HBOMAX reality show "FBOY Island". Which is now on the CW. You might also recognize her most recently for being on the Netflix Tom Brady Roast.

But she's taking time away from her day job to show her true passion, stand-up comedy. Nikki holds no punches as she talks about not wanting children. To the harsh realities of aging and making sure you have plenty of fun while you can.

Talking about fun, she makes sure to dive into the deep end of the pool, talking about her boyfriend and all the sexual fantasies she wants to have in life. Be prepared to be taken on an explicit journey through Nikki's brain in this raunchy stand-up set.

"Nikki Glaser: Someday You'll Die" was harsh and extremely raunchy. This special and Nikki as a comedian reminds me of a combination of Ali Wong and Pete Davidson.

Ali because she has explicit content that's raunchy but funny. Nikki has the same; it's just not as funny as Ali's. She reminds me of Pete because she says a lot of jokes that make you feel uncomfortable rather than laughing. I will say she's way funnier than Pete, though.

I knew Nikki Glaser was a comedian, but I was more familiar with her from her TV show hosting. I watched a lot of her shows with my daughter. In that regard, we both like her a lot. She doesn't hold her tongue. When it came to the special, it had funny parts and lots of parts that just made me cringe. I get a similar feeling when I watch Pete Davidson's comedy.

The title of her special is true to form. She makes a lot of death jokes and inappropriate jokes. That's also the hidden gem behind it all, because if you can make this topic funny, then it's a home run. But sometimes the jokes only made it to first base. Some were just strikes altogether.

A decent special-just brace yourself because it's wild. Some jokes I liked, and others just made me cringe. I'll let you be the judge. I give it three mor fires ???.

Best stand up I've seen this year

Look, Haters gonna hate, Conservatives gonna hate, People with a bit of logic gonna love. I cried, I laughed, I had tears in my eyes in the end, it was the best rollercoaster I've ridden in a while now.

Nikki is great and deserve more success than she already has. I've enjoyed every second of the show. Those who hate this kind of comedy are going to die very disappointed one day, I feel sorry for them, maybe not.

I wish Nikki will do more stand ups or movies soon, I would be first in line to watch them.

My 2 cents: watch it more than 1 time, you gonna discover more gems that you missed in the first time you've watch it.
