A real slog

Lizzie Lazarus has a decent central concept that would have made for a good short film. Unfortunately it's a feature. Basically the film breaks down like this: 15 minutes of setup, an hour of two people walking and talking in the forest, 15 minutes of finale. When I say walking and talking, I mean slowly walking and endlessly talking. This would have been a little more tolerable if the characters were at least somewhat likable. They are not. The "payoff" is so slight and so horribly telegraphed that it's groan inducing. If you only watch one indie (alleged) horror movie this year, don't let it be this one.

Boring...

When I sat down to watch the 2024 movie "Lizzie Lazarus", here in 2025, I virtually had no idea what I was in for. I had never heard about the movie prior to stumbling upon it by random chance. But with it being listed as a horror movie, of course I opted to give the movie a chance.The storyline in the movie had potential, sure, but ultimately ended up being rather mundane and monotonous. Why? Well, there wasn't really a whole lot going on in the narrative, aside from Bethany (played by Lianne O'Shea) and Eli (played by Omar Maskati) walking through the woods, carrying the corpse of Lizzie (played by Megan Oesterreich) whilst conversing. So yeah, the narrative played out rather dull, and I was struggling to feign an interest in it.I was not familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list. The acting performances in the movie were fair, which was a good thing, as the cast ensemble was a relatively small one, and thus the actors and actresses had to carry the movie more than was it a large cast ensemble.I didn't find "Lizzie Lazarus" to be a particularly enjoyable movie. And it definitely is not a movie that I would recommend you to waste 91 minutes on watching. Nor is it a movie that will ever find its way back to my screen a second time.My rating of writer and director Aviv Rubinstien's 2024 movie "Lizzie Lazarus" lands on a two out of ten stars.

Plus one star for not being Skinamarink

BOOOOORIIIIING!!!!! SO BORING! So much walking through the woods. Skipped to the end, didn't miss anything. The ending? Groan. This movie was an excuse for someone to take non-stop about dumb nonsense while pretending to walk through the woods. So glad I read another review that said it was just a whole one or two hours of walking and talking. Creepy pastas should stay creepy pastas. Not everything needs to be stretched out. Yawn. Unlikable characters. Terrible cinematography. Long winded script that adds nothing to the plot. Whoever made this lives in a bubble where nobody said "no" or "why?" or "ugh."
