Plot summary

Aging pals Billy, Paddy, Archie, and Sam have been best friends since childhood. When Billy finally proposes to his much-younger girlfriend, all four friends go to Las Vegas to celebrate the end of Billy's longtime bachelorhood and relive their glory days. However, the four quickly realize that the intervening decades have changed Sin City and tested their friendship in ways they had not imagined.

A Feel-Good Comedy With a Sense of Balance

Only 47% on Rotten Tomatoes? Sheesh. Its not high-art, but compared to other recent comedies I've seen, Last Vegas was Prince Charming. Other movies are just obnoxious with man-child characters and ridiculous situations. But with four Oscar-winning actors and solid writing, our aging gang felt quite real to me, while still being amusing.The movie was funny, but also had a nice touch of drama. Each of our characters had importance in the story, and their own issues associated with aging. And when all is done, you feel glad they had a good time, and have come to terms with their life.Is there a few too many old people jokes? Of course. Are some of the jokes already dated? Yeah, LMFAO and 50 Cent aren't going to be timeless, Muppet Movie-style cameos. Is the plot predicable? Arguably, but c'mon, its a comedy! I enjoyed it quite a bit. Since comedy movies aren't my preference, I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt and give it a solid 7. Consider renting it.

Dependable comfort viewing

There are 4 films I watch if I'm feeling down, they are "It's Complicated", "Book Club", "Going In Style" and this one "Last Vegas". They are all funny, easy going and you feel like you are in excellent company when watching them as the casts in each of them are exceptionally talented. Last Vegas is just so much fun, and has a razor like wit to some of the scenes, the 4 leads all work well and it's hard to believe this is their first film together. If you want a funny, easy going viewing experience, look no further than Last Vegas, and also the other 3 I mentioned too.
