Another rare gem from the deep USA

Blah Performances

Capo Nick Rosse is going to prison. His territory is divided between Martin Brooks and Johnny Seven. But Seven wants it all. Writer Ann Donaldson finds Brooks and wanders around lower Manhattan with him.The dialogue is unconvincing, and the delivery often poor -- Miss Donaldson clearly over-enunciates to be heard in the back row. I was interested in seeing what the streets of Little Italy and Greenwich Village looked like back then, and cameraman Walter Holcomb lets you see the street and store signs, sometimes from interesting angles. Also, the music in the background is pretty good; that's not surprising, given that writer-director was a weekend host on the still-running MILKMAN'S MATINEE on WNEW.
