Fantasy for children of all ages!

A film that marked me as a child and I remembered it all my life, wanting to see it again, such a nostalgia left me in the memory. I saw it again in August 2020, at almost 62 years old, on YouTube. Great difference from when I first saw it, I think in 1965, when I was less than 7 years old. Anyway, even now, after so many years, the film has charm, especially the face, body and smile of Mireille Nègre. Only those with a pure childlike soul will like it.

Lamorisse's final film.

Odd, boring movie about a man with angel wing implants who performs in the circus and uses his gift of flight to rob homes. Writer-director Albert Lamorisse's sixth and final film was the one and only mis-fire among his classic and brilliant films that usually told quiet and simple stories.

Wings of Desire for kids?

Very good that Criterion Collection released this on Bluray. I had a great time watching this gem from the past and very very well at the end with the whole premise of the film and the beautiful cinematography! The film remind me very strongly the film WINGS OF DESIRE and made me think that Peter Handke copy for his screenplay from this film! The cast was excellent and the main actor was in the class of Jacques Tati. It's very sad that the director died in a accident at the age of 48. If you love the Red Balloon and the White Mane you will also love this film which brings back that amazing innocence of the life in the past when the circus was still very popular but also cinema had a story and a message to deliver!
