About Family: Becoming a Family

Best film for New Year

I bumped into this film without watching much of a trailer as a trailer did not convey the film well, but I had a feeling it was a great film so I went to watch it anyway in the cinema. First half of the film was very entertaining, but you can also feel the intensity already, the intensity carryout throughout the film and a film and it with happiness and calmness. The film has so many different characters and they all develop very well, along with different twistS back-and-forth up and down, which made me wow all the time. I really like how a monk is put in the family dynamic and how the father realizing his own problem and fix it his way rather than continue pushing it to his son. It's a very moral movie and showing a lot of family ethics that should be practiced.I cried so much watching this movie, it touches a lot of aspect about how we should practice as a human being with love and kindness, and we are still very imperfect, but the movie portrayed in a very soft way.The length of the movie was perfect not too long, not too short. I do recommend it. And the fact that it is showing in the cinema, makes it more reachable to a lot of audience that equivalent to the number of diverse characters are showing a film.

Thought I'd be laughing, but ended up crying.

I didn't expect much from the movie, had no interest at all, and didn't even bother to watch the trailer. The movie's genre said it is comedy, so I expect I'd be laughing. 30 minutes in, I'm still figuring out where the h*ll is the comedy!? And was kind of disappointed.I didn't really pay attention until the scene where both kids showed up and the monk is recalling his past about what he is doing. Honestly, the movie caught me up!! Thought I would be laughing, but I ended up crying. It has some Buddhist philosophies throughout the story and heart-touching scenes (if you'd like to cry). One thing that is really off, is the lack of inconsistent pace, 7.5/10.
